Puesto que la conexión a Internet en este viaje es bastante limitada, los posts a este blog serán más cortos de lo usual.

Para estas vacaciones de verano, escogimos ir de paseo al norte de Italia. Sirmione fue la destinación que seleccionamos, un pequeño pueblo en una diminuta peninsula bordeada por el Lago de Garda. Pero antes de llegar a Sirmione, debimos arrivar en tren a Milán. En este viaje tenemos el placer de contar con la compañía de Michael y Sira.

Milán es una de las ciudades más importantes de toda Italia. Es verdaderamente una metrópolis. Llegamos en el Cisalpino, que partió de Zúrich a las 7.01, a la estación ferroviaria de Milano Centrale. De ahí, tomamos un metro hacia el centro de la ciudad, a la estación Duomo. Justo al salir de las escaleras de la estación de metro, el visitante es recibido por el impresionante domo de Milán, una magnánima catedral con una arquitectura impresionante.

Es esta gran ciudad no pudimos observar mucho, pues solamente teníamos dos horas para estar ahí antes de tener que ir a retirar el carro de alquiler. Así, abordamos nuestro BMW 318d y nos dirigimos hacia Sirmione, un viaje de 141km.

Since the Internet connection here is very limited, this blog’s posts will be short.

For this summer vacations, we decided to come to the north of Italy for some relaxation. We selected the small town of Sirmione as our base camp for our trip to the Garda lake. But before arriving to Sirmione, we had to take a train to Milan. On this trip, we enjoyed the great company of Michael and Sira.

Milan is one of the most important cities in Italy. We arrived at Milano Centrale train station with the Cisalpino, which departed from Zurich’s main train station at 07.01 hours. From there, we took a subway that took us to the Duomo subway station. Right after exiting the station, the visitor will be welcomes by the impressive figure of Milan’s Duomo, an enormous cathedral in Milan that possess an extraordinary and magnificent architecture.

We could not stay too long in Milan, we had just 2 hours available since we had to go and pick up the rented car we would be using for the entire trip. And so, with a quick but valuable visit to Milan, we boarded our BMW 318d and headed to Sirmione, a trip of 141km.
