De nuevo, me fui con Susanne a esquiar a Laterns, en Austria. Y es que ya se me está volviendo como una adicción: entre más voy a esquiar, más ganas me dan de volver. Pero ya ahorita se acaba el invierno (y la plata también!), así que hay que aprovechar estos meses de Febrero y Marzo antes que se derrita la nieve.
Hubo un accidente en la pista. Una niña de 12 años chocó con alguien y quedó lesionada. Afortunadamente, los servicios de emergencia en Austria son extraordinariamente eficaces, y en pocos minutos apareció uno de los "ángeles amarillos", los helicópteros de evacuación, llamados "Christophorus". Nunca dejan de asombrarme estos pilotos de helicóptero austriacos: se meten bajo la neblina, aterrizan en media montaña, en medio de los árboles. Pilotean con una habilidad, como si estuvieran manejando una bicicleta!

Again, I went skiing to Laterns in Austria. The thing is, it is starting to become an addiction: the more I go skiing, the more I want to do it again. But winter will be soon over (as well as my money!), so we have to take advantage of February and March, before the snow melts.
There was an accident this day. A 12-year old girl crashed with somebody else and required immediate medical evacuation. Fortunately, the "yellow angels" of ÖAMTC operate a network of medivac helicopters. These Austrian pilots never cease to amaze me: they land in the middle on the mountains, go even through fog, even with trees very close by. They fly with such an ability, as if it were riding a bicycle!
FYI, I'm going to Riga, Latvia, this Thursday, so I'll keep you posted.
