Este Domingo me fui, por primera vez en esta temporada, a esquiar. Lastimosamente va a ser probablemente la ultima vez, puesto que el invierno ya esta terminando. Sin embargo, fue una buena oportunidad para volver a ejercer mis herrumbradas habilidades de esquiador alpino. Les dejo unas fotos que tome durante el día.
Puesto que este domingo había competencias de esquí, me puse a tomar fotos de los esquiadores para practicar la técnica del "panning". En un panning, la velocidad del disparador de la cámara se pone a una velocidad relativamente corta (1/100 en este caso), y se toma la foto moviendo la cámara mientras el objeto (el esquiador, en este caso) pasa en frente al fotógrafo. Así, la velocidad de disparo es suficientemente lenta para que el fondo salga borroso, pero el movimiento de "seguir" al esquiador hace que este salgo bien definido. This Sunday I went skiing for the first time of this season. As since winter is about to end, it might have been the last time too. However, it was a good opportunity to put to practice my rusted skiing skills. I post some of the pictures I took during this day.
Since there was a skiing contest going on, I put to practice the panning technique of photography. With a panning, one sets the camera's shutter to a relatively slow speed (1/100th of a second, in this case), and shoots the subject (the skier), trying to follow him with the camera while its shutter is opened. In this case, since the shutter speed is slow, the movement of the camera makes the background blurred, but the skier comes out to be sharp. It is a technique that requires lots of practice and a good eye. Hope you will enjoy the images. Click them to enlarge.
