Una espectacular colisión sucedió este miércoles, cuando un vehículo Hyundai Excel, al no poder tomar una curva en el puente ubicado en el cruce entre San Sebastián y Sagrada Familia, colisionó en contra de la baranda del mismo puente, la cual cedió parcialmente, sosteniendo el vehículo frágilmente para que no cayera al río que se encuentra unos 10 metros abajo. Dentro del vehículo solamente viajaba su conductor, quien a pesar de lo aparatoso de la colisión, solo resultó con traumas leves. El principal reto para el rescate fue la estabilidad del vehículo, factor que limitó mucho la manipulación de la estructura del mismo, pues quien movimiento brusco o la aplicación de mucha fuerza podía forzar el carro hacia el precipio. Finalmente, con la ayuda del ram y la mandíbula, se logró liberar al conductor.

An espectacular MVC occurred this Wednesday, when a Hyundai Excel car, unable to maneuver a curve before the bridge on the intersection between San Sebastián and Sagrada Familia, crashed against the bridge's metal railing, which yielded partially, holding the vehicle so it wouldn't fall to the river, which was about 30ft below. Inside was only the driver, who sustained minor traumas in spite of how terrible the collision appears. The main challenge to the rescue crew was stabilizing the vehicle, a factor that considerably limited the structural manipulation of the car, since any sudden or strong movement could force the car to fall. Finally, with the help of the hydraulic ram and the jaws of life, we ere able to free the trapped driver.
